Thai massage in Silver Spring

One family's Thai massage, on the mat or the table

Anong, her daughter Ava and her cousin Anuwat work side by side. Pick a length, choose the mat or the table, and book with whoever you would like to see.

  • Clothed on the mat, covered on the table
  • Every stretch shown first
  • Stop any time

The family

Three of us, one family

Anong opened Tamarind. Her daughter Ava and her cousin Anuwat work beside her, and each of us is a licensed massage therapist. Book with the one you like, or ask who has the next opening.

Ava is Anong's daughter and works on both the mat and the table. She takes the early mornings and the evenings, and is a good first booking if Thai massage is new to you. She speaks English and Thai.

  • Anuwat Chaiyasit in a white tunic holding a rolled towel beside a table in a bright room

    Anuwat Chaiyasit

Anuwat is Anong's cousin. He works with steady, firm pressure and long stretches, and takes the Saturday sessions. He speaks Thai and English.

On the mat

A mat session, step by step

  • Shoes off, loose clothes

Wear something you can bend in. You get a blanket and a place for your things.

  • A word about pressure

We ask how firm you like it and what to leave alone.

  • Stretches, with your yes

We show each stretch first and wait for a nod. Say no to any of them, or ask us to go lighter.

  • A minute to sit up

We finish slowly, with water and time to sit up before you stand.

The room

Floor space for the mat, a table by the window

We set the room up for the session you book.

Our rooms are quiet, with the door closed and the light low. Shoes come off at the door, and we keep blankets, sheets and towels ready for the mat and the table.

  • Open early and until 8 on weekdays

  • A blanket for the mat, a sheet for the table

  • Thai and English spoken by all three of us

A sunny room with two massage tables, a wooden bench with folded robes and a rug on the wooden floor

Short answers

On the mat, loose, comfortable clothes you can bend in. On the table, undress to your comfort; you are covered by a sheet the whole time.
