On the table

Thai pressure and stretches, on a table

For anyone who would rather lie higher, or likes the warmth of a sheet and a little oil.

The table session uses the same slow pressure and stretches as the mat, adapted to a table. You are covered by a sheet, and only the part being worked on is uncovered. We use an unscented oil unless you ask for something else.

  • 60, 75 or 90 minutes

  • Covered by a sheet the whole time

  • Oil or no oil, as you like

What happens

A table session, step by step

  1. 01

Step 1: A word about pressure

We ask how firm you like it and what to leave alone, then step out while you get settled under the sheet.

  2. 02

Step 2: Back, shoulders and neck

Steady pressure with palms and forearms, with the rest of you covered and resting.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Legs and hips

We uncover one leg at a time, and add a few stretches if you chose them.

  4. 04

Step 4: A minute to sit up

We finish slowly and leave you time to rest before you sit up.

Good to know

Pressure, clothing and who should ask first

  • Pressure

We ask first and check again partway. Lighter or firmer is always your call.

  • Draping

You are covered by a sheet the whole time. Only the part we are working on is uncovered.

  • The right to stop

You can pause, change position or end the session at any time, for any reason.

  • Ask your doctor first

If you are pregnant, or have had recent surgery or an injury, ask your doctor or midwife before you book.

Who works on the table

Ava and Anong

Ava takes most table sessions, and Anong takes them too. Anuwat works on the table by request.

  • Ava Srisai in a cream linen shirt and apron, standing at a wooden table in a bright room

    Ava Srisai

    Licensed massage therapist

    • Massage therapist license · MD Lic. 000000

Ava is Anong's daughter and works on both the mat and the table. She takes the early mornings and the evenings, and is a good first booking if Thai massage is new to you. She speaks English and Thai.

  • Anong Srisai in a pale blue tunic, standing beside a treatment table with folded towels

    Anong Srisai

    Owner and licensed massage therapist

    • Massage therapist license · MD Lic. 000000

Anong opened Tamarind and learned Thai massage from her aunt. She keeps the pace slow and takes most first visits on the mat. She speaks Thai and English.

Questions about the table

What do I wear?

Undress to the point you are comfortable. Whatever you keep on, we work around.

Is the oil scented?

Not unless you ask. We can tell you every ingredient we use, and you can choose no oil.

Are there stretches on the table?

A few, if you choose them. The 75-minute session adds seated or side-lying stretches.

Evenings until 8, Monday to Friday.
